Well, the holidays have come and gone now and after New years, it's back to the old grind stone. Sad in some ways, the holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, but in other ways the beginning of a new year signifies a fresh new start. It may be cheesy, but I still do my new years resolutions, and I actually try to do them. I think goals are a good thing. You'll never get anywhere if you're not reaching for something. anyways, off my soap box now ;)
We had a great Christmas...stayed at home all day. Had good family time. James' first christmas was great. He was spoiled of course, but hey...that's expected right? hehe. I got some great things too...it was an awesome day!
It has been WONDERFUL having Jerm home! I wish he could be here everyday! I'll miss him when he has to return to work on Wednesday. Boo :( That's the way it goes I guess though!
Well- I have a few pictures from the holidays that I'll leave you with. I hope you all have a safe and fun New Years Eve/Day!
HAPPY 2008!

Thanksgiving update
Well Thanksgiving was good this year. We had a lot of people and ate some yummy food. The night before though wasn't so good. I was up sick half the night. :( I debated the next day if I could go, because I was still feeling pretty lousy. But, I decided to buck up and go, I didn't want to miss Turkey Day! It turned out to be a pretty good day. Jerm and I crashed that night though!- We were exhausted!
Friday we went to see "Hitman" and did some shopping. Pretty good movie- for a guy flick. Then we put our tree up Friday night. Good times.
Saturday morning I met Liz at Mimi's Cafe for brunch. They have some yummy food indeed! Jerm and I must go back...loved the pumpkin pancakes!
That day after Liz left, we just vegged. We watched like 4 movies on tv, finished decorating our tree and just hung out. I made matchacholi (sp??) for dinner, it was yummy.
Sunday we ran some errands and went to the mall and had pics taken with James sitting on Santa's lap! They are adorable. I got a new purse/tote/diaper bag yesterday, and I am using it as a purse and a diaper bag. It is really nice and I think it'll help with the carrying of everything.
Today we had James 9 month check up and he is doing great. Weighing in at 22.5 lbs and 29 inches. Big baby! Doc said he is doing great developmentally. We got his flu shot while we were there too. We go back in a month for the booster.
Well- thats about all I have for now...have a great day!

OLD HABITS RING TRUE
Traditions. Thats what I think of most when the holidays come around. Like, what foods to make, what songs to listen to, what movies to watch, what people to see, and which house to go to. I love to decorate the house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. We always put on christmas music, and put our tree up while drinking hot chocolate or coffee. Its always so fun, the men do the lights and the women do the ornaments. Very fun times. On Christmas eve we always go to a candlelight service, then eat dinner with my parents. Afterwards, we go home and watch "It's a Wonderful Life" while we finish last minute wrapping. Then on Christmas morning, we get up, turn the video camera on, and light some candles, put on some christmas music, turn the christmas tree on and then open presents. Then have a big breakfast of pluck me bread and eggs. I love the holidays. Especially if its cold out. That makes it the best. I always dream of a White Christmas. Maybe some year it'll happen.
This is my favorite time of year and I can't wait!!!

Happy Holidays
A lot has happened since I last posted! James turned 8 months, and is actually now almost 9 months! He is CRAWLING now, standing up while holding onto something, saying "mama" and "dada" and clapping! He is doing so good.
I am begininng to wonder if it will ever feel like fall here in TX. Its the middle of November and still in the 80's! Kinda rediculous! Oh well...
Looking forward to the holidays for sure. It's my favorite time of year. Can't wait for Turkey Day and the shopping the day after! Then hopefully when it gets cold, we can all go outside and let James play in the snow! (or at least the leaves haha) Jerm and I are planning on going up to Chicago at some point this holiday season. Then hopefully in Jan/Feb we plan on going to the Caribbean. It'll be nice to finally get a honeymoon! haha
Here are some recent pics of James.

Happy 7 Months!!
Today our Jamesy turns 7 months old!!! He is getting so big. This morning he and I went to the public library for the "baby rhyme time". It was so fun! A bunch of other mommies and babies all sitting on the floor singing along to nursery rhymes and fun interactive songs. I really think James enjoyed it! We will be making that a weekly event I'm sure. I also got a library card while there too.
Tomorrow my friend Chad is in town, so we will be having lunch with him. Haven't seen him since before the wedding!!!
Then I go to Chicago the day after my birthday, the 4th and stay there for a week. Also cool is that Ruthie is going to be there at the same time! So, we'll get to hang out, eat some yummy Chicago pizza and do some shopping on the Mag Mile.
I just wish the weather would turn cold already!!! I'm soooo ready for fall and winter, my favorite time of year! Break out those yankee candles!!! :)

Wow its been a while!
Well it has been a long time since I have updated this!!! Our lives are good. James is 6 months old now! Actually- almost 7 months! So crazy how fast time flies! He has started eating veggies!!! He has had his squash, and sweet potatoes so far. He loves them both! Along with his cereal (which we've been doing barley here lately) he is growing like a weed! At his 6 month appt he weighed 19.9 lbs!!EEEK! Big boy!
We went to Nashville during the labor day weekend. It was so fun to see everything again, where we lived, etc etc. Very cool. I had forgotten how pretty it was there!! Amazing! And the leaves were already starting to change. It is just absolutely gorgeous!
We plan on getting our picture done for the Wilshire Pictorial Directory on Sept. the 25th. Should be really nice to have a "professional" family portrait done. They give us a free 8x10 as well as the option to buy more poses. Very cool.
Lady has a birthday coming up, as well as me! Her's is Sept. 18th and she will be 3!!!!! Can't believe we've had her that long! And of course mine is on Oct. 3rd. Yes- the month for birthdays and anniversarys!!!! We celebrate 2 yrs on the 15th! :D So, lots of exciting stuff happening!!
I am looking forward to dressing James up for Halloween! I think we have narrowed it down to either a pea pod, or a pumpkin. Both are adorable! He will be so precious!!
Well, can't think of anything else at the moment, next time I should have pics!!
Have a great weekend!

Back Pain, Rice Cereal & Major Congrats
Well last Friday I had a huge back spasm that was some of the worst pain I'd ever experienced. Jerm took me to the Dr. when he got home from work, and with my Dad's help, they managed to get me there. They gave me a shot, and 3 prescriptions. I am much better now (at least able to get up by myself and go potty by myself) but definitely not completely healed. It really hurts not being able to completely care for James right now, but I just cannot lift him. Thank God for my family and Jerm helping me out so so much!
Yesterday was a big day for James! We started him on his first Rice Cereal! He loved it! We had tried one time before, right when he turned 4 months and we could tell he wasn't ready. So, we decided that yesterday was long enough to wait, and we were right! He absolutely inhaled it! I'm so happy he loved it. I cannot wait to start him on 1st foods etc. Is going to be a fun, yet very messy adventure! Now, we need to buy a highchair!
Now, I would like to give a HUGE CONGRATS to Matt and Bridget! I am so thrilled for you both on your wonderful news! I cannot wait for the little one to come, and for James to have another cousin to play with! So happy for you both!!!!!!!!!
